Is Cranberry Juice Good for Gout? Research and Potential Drawbacks
Is the Orange Juice an effective treatment for the Gout? Ask anyone who has experienced gout if it is painful, and will probably win. This form of inflammatory arthritis is known for painful blows. is caused by high levels of uric acid in the bloodstream that leads to the development of crystals in the joints, especially the large finger. Along with medicines and lifestyle changes that doctors usually recommend, some experts also suggest increasing their coffee and cherry juice. Research has shown that both seem to be useful in reducing the risk of gout attacks. With that in mind, could another kind of juice — blue — be an effective treatment to try? At present, it seems that no direct connection between drinking cranberry juice or taking cranberry supplements and reducing gout bengalas is investigated. Much of the research that examines whether a particular type of juice could help prevent a drop bengala seems to be centered around cherries and cherry juice. More research is needed to determine whether cranberry juice could be an effective treatment or prevention strategy for gout. Although there is no current evidence in relation to gout, the research has examined whether cranberry juice can be useful or harmful when it comes to other diseases or conditions that involve high levels of uric acid. For example, higher uric acid levels can contribute to the development of a certain type of kidney stone, uric acid stone. A found that people who took cranberry supplements, with and without vitamin C added, had higher levels of oxalate in their urine. Oxalate is a chemical that is a byproduct of the metabolism of your body, and leaves your body through your urine. When combined with calcium, that oxalate can lead to the development of kidney stones. However, the study is limited, with a small sample size of only 15 participants. One also found that cranberry juice seemed to increase the risk of calcium oxalate stones and uric acid stones, although it seemed to decrease the risk of forming another stone called brush stone. This study was also relatively small, with 24 participants. Therefore, it is possible that drinking cranberry juice can lead to higher levels of uric acid, which, in turn, could lead to the development of crystals in the joints that cause painful drip bengalas. More research is needed to confirm that call. Without any definitive evidence suggesting that cranberry juice could be effective treatment for gout, your doctor may be reluctant to give you the knot to test it, especially if you are at risk for kidney stones. To avoid adding unnecessary calories and sugar to your diet, choose sugar-free cranberry juice. Fortunately, you have options to treat gout. Consider some of them to see if they're right for you: Preventive drugs One of the best ways to deal with gout is to avoid bengalas. Your doctor may advise you to try taking preventive medications called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. These include: Normal preventive drugs or decrease uric acid production or increase excretion. While colchicin (Mitigare, Colcrys) is known to be used for acute attacks, it can also be used in lower doses along with these medications to prevent attacks. If these treatments don't work, you can test the pegloticasa (Krystexxa), which is given through intravenous infusion every 2 weeks. Pain Medicine If you experience a painful gout attack, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID) such as ibuprofen or naproxen may remove the edge and reduce inflammation. Your doctor may also suggest pain relief and inflammation in the affected joints. Colchicina (Mitigare, Colcrys) can also be more effective in reducing pain and swelling when taken as soon as a bengala begins. Lifestyle changes You can also make some changes on your own. Some commonly recommended strategies to reduce the chances of drip exacerbation include: Dietary changes should also include reducing alcohol and certain types of food, such as red meat, which tend to be high in purines. Other prevention strategies Perhaps another type of drink appeals to you. How about coffee or coffee? They both have some proof behind them. A noted the evidence that coffee seems to reduce the risk of gout, but added that there is still no research focused on coffee consumption and gout flare. According to one , the consumption of cherry juice seemed to be related to a lower risk of gout. As with any health condition, if you feel that something is getting worse, don't hesitate to contact your healthcare provider. If you seem to be experiencing more frequent or more severe gout attacks, ask about taking a different medication — or possibly increasing the dose of the medications you are already taking. Unpleasant side effects or new symptoms are other reasons for making a call to your doctor's office. Gout is not curable, but it is definitely manageable. Research supports the inclusion of certain foods in its overall strategy for the prevention and treatment of gout. Unfortunately, for now, cranberry juice and cranberry supplements don't seem to make the cut. You might consider cherry juice if you are interested in adding a new drink to your routine. Before trying any new treatment strategy, talk to your healthcare provider and make sure you are on the same page. Last medical review on October 9, 2019Read this following
